We participate in the BC Government's Child Care Reduction Fee Initiative and accept the Affordable Child Care Benefit which can reduce your fees based on your household's income.

Tweety Blue Bird Classified as a child care center, we meet the high regulatory standards of a childcare facility to meet the health, safety and well-being of children. This means that staff must hold a current Early Childhood Certificate with current childcare First Aid at a minimum.

Furthermore, our program of activities are developmentally appropriate and support the development of your child's intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being.

Children at Tweety Blue Bird Child Care are outside from 10:30 am to 12:00pm and 3:30pm to 5:30pm most days in all weather. We encourage children to be independent and self-sufficient, meaning we help them learn to dress themselves, feed themselves, do activities themselves, and find a teacher if they need help.

MEAL PLAN

We follow the new Canada Food Guide which encourages 1/2 a plate of fruits and vegetables, 1/4 protein, and 1/4 whole grains. Food is minimally processed and we are very added sugar conscious.

SAMPLE MENU:

Breakfast--Wholewheat waffles

with berries and hard boiled eggs

Morning snack: Apple slices, pear slices, wholewheat bread, berries, eggs, etc.

Afternoon snack: Seaweed, cucumbers, grapes

WHAT DOES A DAY LOOK LIKE?

8:00 am : Center Opens

​      Check-In and Hand-Wash

      Free Play: Children can choose their own activities. One of each activity areas (Arts/Dramatic Play, Science and Math, Fine Motor Skills and Gross Motor Skills) will be setup each day.

9:30am

  • Morning snack offered (till 10:30am)

10:30am

  • Circle time

  • Play outside onsite

12:00pm - 12:30pm

  • Lunch 

  • Sometimes we eat outside

12:30pm - 1:00pm

  • Book and Puzzle time

1:00pm

  • Nap Time

3:00pm

  • Afternoon snack 

  • We wake children up who are still napping.

3:30pm

  • Outside Play (rain or Shine)

5:30pm : Centre closes

We are planing to go to the Hastings Mill Park once a week in the morning.

​

HOW MANY STAFF WILL BE ON SITE?

​

At all times there will be at least 1 certified Early Childhood Educator. This staff member will be supported by another staff with at minimum an Early Childhood Assistant certificate with First Aid during peak hours.
